Pastor Dan Boatman professed his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of 13 in his grandfather's kitchen.  In January of 2001, he announced his call to preach at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.  Then, some fourteen years later, Brother Dan began his pastorate at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church on October 7, 2013.

A graduate of Auburn University, Brother Dan has a degree in mathematics education. He has a master's degree in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University. 

He is married to Lisa (Clayton) Boatman. The couple has five children: Clayton, Avery, Bailey, Tucker, and Luke Tex.  Before coming to MPBC, Brother Dan founded the Abundant Life Baptist Church in Opelika, Alabama.  He also served as Assistant Pastor at Greater Life Baptist Church in Columbus, Georgia.

Born and raised in the Blount County area, Brother Dan has a tremendous burden to reach the community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
