AWANA CLUB
AWANA offers a fun, proven approach for early evangelism and discipleship. Its name is derived from the first letters of Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed as taken from 2 Timothy 2:15. An international evangelical non-profit organization founded in 1950, Awana's scripture-based programs and exciting games attract families, promote Bible literacy, and help kids develop lifelong faith in Christ. At Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, children ages 3-12 meet for AWANA on Wednesday nights at 6:30 pm from August 21, 2019 to May 14, 2020. There is no charge for children to attend AWANA clubs at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, however, donations are gladly accepted to assist in book fees, uniform fees, etc.
Our end of year ceremony will be on Wednesday, May 14, 2020 at 6:30pm in the church sanctuary.
Kids represent the greatest opportunity to make a long-term impact on our world for Christ. AWANA establishes welcoming, supportive environments where kids, from every background and cultural setting, learn how a personal relationship with Christ affects their everyday lives. In AWANA, kids meet in age-appropriate groups or "clubs" as outlined below:

Cubbies celebrates the spiritual potential of preschoolers, ages 3 to 5 years, by helping them develop respect for God, His Son, and His Word. Preschoolers can hardly wait for their next Cubbies club meeting. Whether it's the fun puppets, the exciting games, or all their Cubbies friends, they simply love it. During lesson time each week, preschoolers learn about God - the greatness of His love and His Word - and about His Son, Jesus Christ, the promised Savior. Cubbies help lead your child to God early so your child will have respect and trust for Him for life.
Sparks ignites the curiosity of children in grades K through 2nd grade as they learn about the people and events of the Bible, building a foundation of wisdom for knowing Christ. For many children, Sparks is the highlight of their week! They love their red vests, the exciting games, and spending time with leaders and friends. During the year, Sparks clubbers learn about Jesus, memorize Bible verses, and complete handbook activities.
T&T (Truth & Training) engages 3rd through 6th graders by answering their questions about God and the Bible, guiding them through this pivotal life stage to grow in Christ's grace. The handbooks and large group lessons deepen a child's knowledge about God and His Word and teach them how to put that knowledge into action in everyday life.
